Invoicing infrastructure for a national tax authority

In Argentina an invoice is only valid once the national tax authority has authorised it, and every taxpayer authorises with their own cryptographic identity. Building a platform that issues on behalf of thousands of them starts from one uncomfortable fact: you have to hold the most sensitive credential each of those businesses owns.

Key custody first, features after

The architecture starts at the private key. Signing credentials are held under end-to-end encryption, so each taxpayer keeps control of their own fiscal identity instead of handing it over. Everything else was designed to fit that constraint, not the other way round.

Tenancy by taxpayer, not by account

One account issues for dozens of separate tax IDs — an accounting firm's entire client list. Each is isolated, with its own numbering, limits and reporting, so one tenant's volume or mistakes never reach another's.

One issuance path, many front doors

The quick web form, the detailed form, the spreadsheet uploader and third-party integrations all resolve to the same issuing endpoints. There is one code path to get right, and one place where fiscal rules live.

Documents decoupled from authorisation

Rendering a PDF is a separate service from issuing an invoice. A legally valid document never waits on a good-looking one, and the two scale on their own terms.

Bulk is a first-class path, not a script

Accountants work in spreadsheets, so a CSV or Excel upload fans out into hundreds of individual authorisations with per-row results — the same guarantees as a single call, at a volume nobody wants to click through.

Alien Software is a development studio focused on the startup space. We combine technical depth with a bias for getting things in front of real users — which is why we run our own products rather than only advising on other people's.

A real-time matching engine, generative AI at consumer scale and tax-compliant financial infrastructure: three hard problems we have had to get right in production, not on a whiteboard. Everything we learn keeping those alive is what we bring to client work.
